Genesis Rodriguez was conceived in
Miami, Florida. She is the daughter Jose Luis "El Puma" Rodriguez,
the famed Venezuelan actor and singer, and Carolina Perez (a Cuban model). She
has two half-sisters. She was a student at the Carrolton School of the Sacred
Heart. Rodriguez realized as a child that she wanted to become an actor. She
attended summer classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and
continued her acting training. She was successful and won roles in Spanish
language shows like Prisionera (2004), Dame Chocolate (2007) and Dona Barbara
(2008). In the popular series "Entourage", she also played Sarah. Man
on a Ledge (2012) was her first film project. What to Expect when You Expect
(2012) is her second. Jose Luis El Puma’ Rodriguez's daughter. Half-sister of
Liliana Rodriguez and Lilibeth Morillo. She said on The Late Late Show with
Craig Ferguson, 9 January 2013, episode that she was named Genesis after the
British rock group Genesis. She is is Cuban and Venezuelan ancestral ancestry.
